About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Project Coordinator to join our Systems, Software & Solutions group, focusing on Engine & Compression (E&C) and Reliability solutions. This position offers a chance to work with leading-edge technologies that reduce emissions, enhance equipment reliability, and support our customers in achieving their operational goals.

If you’re a Technologist (C.E.T.) or Engineer/E.I.T. with 4+ years of project or field startup experience — and you’re eager to take on a hands-on project management and coordination role — this could be an ideal fit.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for managing multiple projects at once — from the initial planning stages to successful delivery — ensuring that each one meets budget, schedule, and quality targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating all stages of project execution, from sales handoff through design, configuration, fabrication, commissioning, and startup.
  • Managing project scope, timelines, budgets, and customer expectations.
  • Producing project documentation such as schedules, reports, and financial updates.
  • Collaborating with technical experts, engineers, field service, and sales teams to ensure smooth execution.
  • Coordinating shop fabrication, system integration, and material delivery.
  • Forecasting project costs and addressing any discrepancies between estimates and actuals.
  • Communicating with customers in a professional and solution-focused manner.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation to provide customer support for E&C products and services.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external partners.

Technologies & Systems You’ll Work With

You’ll gain hands-on experience with:

  • PLC and control systems: REMVue, Sixnet RTU (Isagraf), DeltaV, Allen-Bradley (RS500/5000 & Studio5000), Schneider Proface, and PanelView HMIs.
  • Engine & compression systems: Altronic shutdown and control systems, ignition systems, and air-fuel ratio controllers.
  • Instrumentation and reliability products: Fisher valves, Rosemount transmitters, vibration sensors, DVCs, VFDs, and more.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Credentials:

  • Diploma in Instrumentation or Electronics Technology (C.E.T. eligible with ASET), or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Software, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics) with E.I.T. or P.Eng eligibility (APEGA).

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in process control system design (PLC, DCS, pneumatic systems, analytical systems, or prefabricated modules).
  • Familiarity with project execution and manufacturing lifecycles.
  • Experience using SAP (PS module) is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven teamwork and negotiation skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
  • Safety training such as H2S Alive, First Aid, and CSTS (or willingness to obtain).

Why Join Spartan Controls?

  • Be part of an employee-owned company that values innovation and community.
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies in automation and sustainability.
  • Enjoy a collaborative, learning-focused environment with opportunities for growth.
  • Contribute to meaningful projects that make industry safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible.
