Job Title: Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department, Nova Scotia Contract

Contract Dates: July 27 – September 19, 2026
Schedule: 4 shifts/week, 11.25 hours per shift
Pay Rate: $95/hour, plus travel and accommodation expenses covered
About the role
SORIG — The Art of Healing is a nurse-led travel nursing staffing agency placing experienced RNs into hospital contracts across Atlantic Canada. We have an immediate opening for a Specialty Registered Nurse for a high-acuity Emergency Department contract in Nova Scotia, running July 27 through September 19, 2026.
The Specialty RN is assigned to a unit with patients who require more complex care. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the overall coordination and direction of nursing care, providing clinical leadership in complex or unpredictable patient care settings. You’ll bring the knowledge, skill, and judgment needed to deliver competent, evidence-based nursing practice, and work as part of a collaborative care team alongside other disciplines to coordinate care and achieve strong patient and family outcomes. You’ll also contribute to the efficient functioning of the unit and comply with all documentation standards required at Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- Coordinate and direct nursing care for assigned patients
- Exercise clinical judgment and leadership in complex or rapidly changing situations
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health, and unit staff to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation per NSHA standards
- Complete facility orientation (paid as a shift) prior to starting the assignment
- Submit expenses and time sheets through Flextrack and Sorig INC
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license, eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Nova Scotia (CNO/CRNNS) prior to start date
- Recent Emergency Department or equivalent specialty/critical care experience
- BLS/ACLS certification (current)
- Comfortable working independently in a high-volume, high-acuity environment
- Availability for the full contract period, 4 shifts/week
- Experience working in ER X2 years
