The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the Condensed Matter Physics group. This team has played a leading role in graphene research since its discovery and continues to explore the exciting world of 2D materials.
The position will begin on 1 October and is available for 12 months. The role will focus on exploring how newly developed 2D materials behave in terms of catalysis and ion transport. The work is supported by the EPSRC, the European Commission, and other international funding partners.
What We’re Looking For
- A PhD (or submitted thesis) in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related area
- Hands-on expertise in at least one of the following:
- Electrochemistry
- Micro- or nano-fabrication (ideally cleanroom-based)
- High-precision electrical measurements
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
