An exciting opportunity has become available for a Rota Supervisor to assist and support the Surgical Management Team at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital to cover maternity leave. The post holder will also be required to manage the approval and collation of all aspects of Doctors’ leave in line with the processes in place.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide an efficient and effective service in a pressured environment. The postholder will work closely with the General Manager, and Junior Doctors developing the on-call rota and maintaining on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and proven administrative experience, including keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and database systems. Candidates will also need to demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize their workload in order to meet tight timescales.
Previous experience with rota coordination, working in a Workforce Department or working with senior medical staff and Doctors is desirable although not essential.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST:
Recording absence levels for Doctor’s & Locums within the GSACT Services Directorate. This includes reviewing annual leave, study leave and sickness, reporting abnormal levels to the Service Manager or the Consultant on call.
Development and management of the TASCC on call and specialty rotas for Surgery. Making adjustments on a daily basis depending on the staffing levels for that day.
In conjunction with the educational supervisors and Service Manager, organise surgical rotations within the surgical specialities.
Liaising with medical staff, Medical staffing and the Postgraduate Centre to help ensure contact details for Junior Doctors in training are up to date and kept in a central area within the department.
Liaising with the Medical Staffing Department, Service Manager and Divisional Director to ensure that all medical staffing recruitment is identified.
To ensure any relevant departments are aware of staff on rotation or on cover shifts, and are aware of any changes made to the surgical rotas.
