About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Tier 3 Network Engineer with a strong background in hotel and resort networking environments. This role is suited for a senior-level engineer who is highly comfortable working with Aruba gateways, Aruba Central, Ruckus switches/controllers, and Fortinet firewalls, and who has deep hands-on experience with captive portal and guest Wi-Fi solutions.
You will be responsible for designing, deploying, rebuilding, and troubleshooting complex hospitality networks, often replacing legacy systems such as Nomadix. Your work will directly impact guest connectivity, operational reliability, and overall network performance across hotel environments.
This is a fully remote position, supporting hospitality networks primarily in U.S. time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Aruba gateway solutions, including full replacements of legacy guest access systems.
- Build and rebuild hotel network infrastructures from the ground up, ensuring stability, security, and scalability.
- Configure and troubleshoot captive portals for guest authentication using multiple authentication methods.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including undocumented or inherited hotel networks.
- Optimize wireless performance using Ruckus and Aruba controllers, SmartZones, and best-practice RF design.
- Configure and support Fortinet firewalls and security appliances across different models.
- Ensure secure and reliable connectivity for both guest networks and hotel back-of-house systems.
- Collaborate effectively with other engineers in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Aruba Central.
- Practical experience working with Aruba 9004 Gateways or similar Aruba gateway models.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for hotel captive portal systems.
- Proven ability to analyze, document, and stabilize unfamiliar network environments.
- Direct experience supporting hospitality networks (hotels or resorts).
- Hands-on exposure to Aruba, Ruckus, Ubiquiti, and Fortinet networking equipment.
- Solid understanding of hotel Wi-Fi design, high-density environments, and roaming behavior.
- Strong knowledge of network security, firewall configuration, and gateway best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to function effectively as part of a technical team.
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have)
- Fortinet NSE certifications
- Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA) or Professional (ACMP)
- Ruckus Wired/Wireless certifications
- Cisco CCNA or CCNP (or equivalent)
- Other relevant networking certifications are a plus
Work Schedule & Expectations
- Full-time commitment
- Primary working hours align with 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time (USA)
- Flexibility to work overnights or weekends when required
