    Contract: Full-time, 12-month contract
    Location: Nigeria (Remote, with extensive regional travel)

    About the Opportunity

    QS is partnering with Newcastle University to appoint a motivated and results-driven In-Country Representative based in Nigeria. This role focuses on growing student recruitment from Nigeria and the wider West Africa region for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

    The successful candidate will act as the university’s local presence in the region, building strong relationships, driving applications, and converting interest into enrolments through well-planned recruitment activities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Act as the primary representative for Newcastle University in Nigeria and West Africa, maintaining a strong understanding of regional opportunities and challenges.
    • Develop and manage a robust recruitment network to support student enrolment growth across the region.
    • Plan and deliver recruitment activities such as education fairs, school visits, webinars, information sessions, and open days.
    • Consistently work towards and achieve agreed application and enrolment targets.
    • Coordinate recruitment events, including logistics, communications, and collaboration with partners and vendors.
    • Build, train, and support authorised recruitment agents to ensure ethical, high-quality student recruitment.
    • Establish and strengthen relationships with international schools, universities, and other feeder institutions.
    • Provide clear guidance to prospective students on programmes, entry requirements, application processes, and deadlines.
    • Engage alumni through events and networking activities to support recruitment and brand visibility.
    • Maintain accurate records of leads, activities, and outcomes using designated data and CRM systems.
    • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with recruitment and institutional goals.
    • Produce regular performance reports, including data analysis and measurable outcomes.
    • Undertake additional duties relevant to the role as required.

    Travel and Working Requirements

    • The role involves significant travel across Nigeria and the wider West Africa region, estimated at up to 50%.
    • Occasional travel to other countries within the region may be required.
    • Flexibility to support virtual events outside standard working hours is expected.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Consistent outreach and engagement with prospective students, resulting in strong conversion to enrolments.
    • Effective communication and collaboration with recruitment partners, delivering high-quality applications.
    • Achievement of application and enrolment targets for the assigned region.

    Essential Skills and Experience

    • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience within the higher education sector.
    • Excellent spoken and written English.
    • Proven experience working with international students and education programmes.
    • Demonstrated success in student recruitment, conversion activities, and meeting enrolment targets.
    • Experience working with education agents in the West Africa region.
    • Strong presentation, reporting, and data-analysis skills.
    • Ability to manage budgets and interpret basic statistical information.
    • High level of organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
    • Exceptional time-management and customer service skills.
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the region with minimal supervision.

    Desirable Experience

    • Postgraduate study or international education experience.
    • Prior experience representing international or foreign universities.
    • Experience working with secondary schools, local universities, language schools, or pathway providers.
    • Familiarity with CRM systems, virtual engagement tools, and productivity platforms.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Experience working with geographically and culturally diverse teams.
    • Understanding of international education marketing and data protection standards.
