    Director Roles – Multiple Opportunities Across the Department of Justice

    The Department of Justice (DoJ) is recruiting six Director-level leaders to work across a range of business areas within the Department. These senior roles offer the opportunity to shape strategy, provide visible leadership, and deliver high-quality outcomes that support the justice system and wider public services in Northern Ireland.

    These appointments are part of a wider talent competition, meaning additional roles with similar responsibilities may become available during the lifetime of the process.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Director, you will:

    • Provide strategic leadership within your assigned business area, ensuring alignment with departmental and Executive priorities.
    • Lead, motivate and develop large, multidisciplinary teams, promoting high performance, inclusivity and accountability.
    • Advise senior stakeholders, including Permanent Secretaries, Ministers and external partners, on complex, sensitive or high-risk issues.
    • Oversee the delivery of major programmes, policies or services, ensuring effective governance, risk management and value for money.
    • Represent the Department at senior forums, building strong relationships across government and with external organisations.
    • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and ethical decision-making within your area of responsibility.

    Salary and Benefits

    • Salary: £88,268 – £97,070 per annum
    • Pension: Employer contribution of 34.25%
    • Location: Greater Belfast area
    • Benefits: Access to the Northern Ireland Civil Service pension scheme and associated benefits
