Position Overview
St. John Valley Associates, in partnership with AMHC, is looking for a caring and dependable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Direct Service Professional (DSP) in Madawaska, Maine. This role is scheduled for approximately three days per week and focuses on supporting adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in leading fulfilling, connected lives.
As a DSP, you will play an important role in helping individuals participate in their communities, explore personal interests, and build meaningful relationships. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, motivated, and enjoys working closely with others in a supportive environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support individuals in daily activities while promoting independence, dignity, and personal choice
- Encourage and assist with community outings, social connections, and recreational activities
- Work closely with individuals, families, and service providers to develop and follow personalized support plans
- Provide care that supports emotional, physical, and personal well-being
- Follow agency guidelines and safety procedures to ensure a secure and respectful environment
- Model professionalism and teamwork in all interactions with clients, coworkers, and community members

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation required
- DSP certification is a plus, but not required
- U.S. passport preferred
